carrier pin won't go back in

I'm doing a 5 lug rear disc conversion on my 92. I bought moser 28 spline c-clip axles. Axles go in no problem, put the c-clips on and pull on the axles. Go to put the carrier pin in, won't fit. Haven't heard anything on this before. Any help?

make sure your pinion gears are lined up with the hole. Sometimes turning the diff by the axle cause the pinions to walk a little and not line up with the carrier any more. Double check that. Other than that i havnt heard anything weird with the pin not being able to go back in.

Put the trans in neutral and rotate the driveshaft until the crosspin hole is facing you. Then grab a tire and rotate until the 2 spider gears are perfectly lined up with the hole. Then push out on the tires to get the c-clips bottomed out. Then try to push the carrier pin back in. If this is the same pin that just came out, rotate the carrier 180 degrees and try again. If you're certain everything is a-ok, get a deadblow mallet and "coerce" it back in medival style. Thats what I had to do with mine: the ring gear was so thick, it was rubbing the pin.
