Obviously the back seat of the mustang doesn't have the LATCH system provisions. So I went to put the booster seat into the mustang last night (now that he is in daycare I need a seat in the car if I want to drive it)... anyway... Now also because the seatbelts do not lock down to hold the seat tight I needed to use the metal clip to hold the two straps together but for the life of me I cannot get the seat tight enough so it does not move forward/back...

The rule is that the seat should not move more than 1" in any direction and it is moving like 3-4" front and back and no side to side movement. Can I use a towl to essentially wedge the carseat base forward the 3-4" and then tighten it down? Or do i need to try and find another seat? I really like the seat I got it matches the interior of the stang well and looks kinda racy (well as racy as a car seat can get)...

BTW it is an evenflow evolution...

HELP.. I want to take the car tomorrow or Friday...

hey, I dont post much on here, but I went through this with my 88 vert and 97 gt when my boys were small. Did you double check that the seatbelt doesnt lock after you pull it completely out of the retractor? I dont know about 94, but my 97 does that so when you let it go back in, it locks. If your seat has the 5- point harness built in, just put as much of your weight on the seat as possible, and feed the shoulder belt back in(after you have pulled it all the way out the set the retractor) as far as possible. when you release your weight, the seat springs back up and it makes the belt real tight. I had to put both knees in the seat with all my weight to get it tight enough to satisfy my wife!! the only thing is it leaves a indention in your seat when you remove it. I guess that beats junior gettin hurt. if that doesnt work, you can always make a anchor point for the LATCH system using a short length of chain, some big body washers and bolt it behind the seat to the structure under the top. I had to do that on the 88 because it didnt have a shoulder harness. I know it is a pain, but my boys loved riding with the top down. I cant wait to get another ragtop!! thanks, tj
