Ok, anyone have or used to run a Carter AFB carb on their 5.0 or 289? I am getting around 14 MPG. Now I have heard that in order to lean out the mixture that you have to re-jet it or check for vaccum loss. I do not know how to re-jet a carb and where might the carb lose vaccum pressure? I have replaced the spark plugs(gaped to .35), added 8mm wires, a fuel filter, and a air cleaner. Any help would be appreciated.0

you dont always have to change the jets in a carter carb, you can change the metering rods as well, fatter for leaner. the edelbrock works the same way.
