I didn't have the tools to install these correctly so I took them to Goodyear where my alignment was still under warranty. I picked it back up earlier and drove it for less than a mile when I started to hear thumping sounds under the hood. I went back to Goodyear, the mechanic added spacers, and now it seems ok BUT, he seemed unsure about what was going on and said I should come back and told me something about how my tires made it hard and some other stuff that I didn't quite think would make a big deal. Anyhow, the plates are installed but they don't look right so I'm attaching pics. They were obviously taken from the front end and it looks like the right hand side plate is upside down, or backwards, also notice the top right bolt is not even part of the plate...just holding it with a spacer! Either way something doesn't look right and if I go back in there tomorrow I'd like to be able to tell them what's up so that they can fix it!

I'm no mechanic but even I know those are installed wrong. I can't believe you paid for that, I would get my money back and go somewhere else.

Yeah that's what I figured...I should've looked at it while I was there but I trusted the guy...I called them and told them that it needed to be fixed asap and I'm gonna try to get my money back.

dude...you should just put the stockers back on until you get money to buy some maximum motorsports caster camber plates.

those things you got there look like we should be playing horseshoe with them.

I'm at a loss. How can anyone look at that and see it isn't right?

The spacers on the struts are normal but the CC plate on the right is upside down. I'd get the manager in on this one.

i had the upr 4 bolt c/c plates and they were the ****zle. mm ones are bad ass too. i would try and get those guys to do something about their screw up. also, are those just slapped right onto the strut towers? i don't know about the "shark" plates, but aren't there supposed to be spacers under the top plates like on the 4 bolt ones or other brands?

1. Do NOT drive that car anyplace other than going back to those butchers and demanding they fix it.

That guy must have had meat hooks for hands and sh** for brains.

The plates look very flimsy BTW.

The three bolt plates work just fine for a stock geomerty suspension. MM makes great products don't get me wrong, but the four bolt plates are meant to carry the extra weight of a coil over set up. Think about it the spring is what holds up the weight of the car in a modified Mc pherson strut. Which is what we have on our cars. The spring sits in between the body and the front control arm. The strut or "damper" smooths out the compression and rebound of the spring. Four bolt CC plates look great and yes they are stronger but they are not the end all be all.

I feel for you. We have all had that sinking feeling in our stomach when we realize that something isn't right with our pride and joys.

Flip the plate around and drive it back to the shop to get it re-alinged.

By the way I have been a long time listnener first time caller. Hello everyone!

Well I went back there this morning, told them it was unacceptable and that I didn't quite understand how a mechanic could've done something like this. The guy tried to tell me that I took that risk when I gave them an after market part, which is crap, and then said that the scratches around that area were normal. He didn't have much to say about a stripped bolt or the fact that my driver pate was held in place partially by a bolt w/ a washer under it. I got my money back and hopefully the plate wasn't flipped to try and hide something...
