Cat Converter

My turbo coupe's exhaust is rattling and shaking and it's making a noise coming from the cat so I assume it's either clogged or bad. How do I try to unclog it or where is a good place to get a new cat for the TC?

I guess nobody on here ever replaced a cat converter before?

I don't know if you got emission test, but if you doesn't, just remove it, or I know that here in montreal, many autopart sells "racing" cat converter that cost something like 75$can (60$US)

Are you sure its not just the heat shields around the cat? Those things always rattle after they age a bit. Especially the riveted ones. A couple of minutes with a welder and you could be rattle free once again.

It's shaking inside the car too. The motor seems to be still running smoothly. It's got a bad sputtering sound and is revving slowly like it's struggling to push out exhaust. Really has me thinking it's the converter. My main question here is what's the best place to pick up a new one?
