My 1998 GT does not have catalyic converters. I am running an off-road H-pipe to some Magnaflows. The engine light stays on and the code is reading: Catalayic Emissions below threshold (Bank 2). I may have an exhaust leak near the manifold and the car feels more sluggish than usual. Any suggestions on how to correct this problem besides putting cats back on the car?

do you have MIL Eliminators? the rear O2 sensors have no effect on fuel trim. their sole purpose is to moniter the efficiency of the catalytic converters.

So you took the cats out and wonder why you have a check engine light? Am I missing something here?

As mentioned above, a set of O2 simulators would take care of that without having to put the cats back in. With the very minimal amount of power gain from removing cats, I wouldn't run without them...really not worth the hassle IMO.

O2 simulators are cheap. That will take care of the check engine light and you'll be good to go.
