Well, I've seemed to narrow my choice for midpipe down to these two. I've searched and read nearly every thread available here and on the Mach1registry forum, so I wanted to ask locally what you run, how you like it, opinions, etc. I've heard good things about the catted SLP x-pipe, but many like the new MAC Prochamber with cats.

X-pipe gives more of that high pitched-NASCAR sound, some say too raspy-ricer sound, but will good rwhp gains.
ProChamber is more of the classic muscle car rumble sound.

I want it to be much louder than stock, but not so my neighbors will need ear plugs in the process.

I'm going to run either Borla Stingers or SLP catback, so that one is decided, but I want mid-pipe done this month, so I better decide soon.

I await replys and flame suit is on!

Either will sound really good. Tyler and Charlie (among others) are running x-pipes. They sound great and not high pitched at all..IMO. I dig my prochamber - no cats - but fit has been a minor problem. Every couple of months, I've got to tighten it up. Not a big deal, but something to think about.

If you like the Mac stuff, you would love the Bassani stuff. Nothing compares as far as install and quality. From the Mac stuff I have installed, it is ok at best. The coating is cheesy and its fit is so-so. I have a Bassani X and wouldnt trade it for anything. If you want a borla Stinger or SLP catback, they are exceptionally loud....especially with a non- catted midpipe. 03yellowvenom has a bassani catback that we just installed after removing his Stingers. They were obnoxiously loud. I am pretty sure he is running a Mac midpipe. If you ever go to a Starbucks meet, you can get a feel for the different exhausts, a few are represented there

BTW, Chung at Blue Oval stocks different types, the Mac and Bassani are likely in stock.

I put an SLP catback on my wife's 96 Cobra a few months ago. It sounds awesome, but I don't think I'd be able to take it with a catted x-pipe on it. If I were you, I'd install the cat-back of your choice before investing in the front pipe to check out the sound first. I was planning to do exactly what you're thinking of and I'm very glad I did the cat-back first.

Well, It's finally decided.

Big thanks go out to Duner! Purchased his very slightly used catted Prochamber. Happy all you NW guys have lots of parts for same as I'd much rather deal locally than buying off e-bay or out of town sales.

Next up=SLP Catback to go along with it.

Well I have run both (on the same car) and it depends on what is more important to you....

If you want BIG THROATY' sound go with the MAC. (but it will set off car alarms in parking lotts with 2 chamber flowmasters)

If you want some of the best fit and finnish of any product I have ever owned, then go with the Bassani (the sound aint bad either).

And even with the Bassani, to quote Cory "damn double d, that thing sounds like a big block" (as stated when my car was pulling in Jeffs shop last summer)

Maybe its just my lack of maturity, but I get a kick out of that every time. Its not that the pipe is overly loud, but just really deep in pitch. There's nothing like going through a parking garage and having an entire row of cars chirping and few alarms going off as you drive by.

LOL.

Yea, I've been having that happen a lot to me lately. Just idling through the garage in some areas can drive people nuts with the alarms going off.
