Me CEL came on the other day, I pulled the codes and got code 181 which roughly means I'm running rich. Can I fix this with an afpr?

EDIT: And what the fawk happened to stangnet? and why did my post count drop from 1300 to 800 all of the sudden? WTF?

Good place to start... but I would always wonder why it began to run rich to begin with.

hmm, my recollection was that 181 meant that it was at the rich adaptive limit and that it was still lean.

the puter should adapt as much as it can (with your mods do you think you outran the adaptive ability of the puter?). if not, i would be lookin at sensors that are out of calibration (but not out of spec, which means no CEL for that sensor).

good luck.

doh I should have just gone and gotten my book out of my car and reread what it said. I just remembered the code said something about being lean, lol.

hmmm..... I HIGHLY doubt the computer would not be able to compensate considering the minimal amount of mods I have done. Waht sensors do I need to look at?

stuff i would do (assuming i was right about you being lean actually - i was not sure - i just posted my recollection):

check for vac leaks (unmetered air allows a lean condition). clean the MAF and check the values for the IAT sensor (it is a thermistor), as is the ECT which is also a thermistor. both can be out of calibration but not out of spec (no code for them, though they give bad data for the condition). an example is that the ECT tells the puter the motor is warm when it really is cold, and it runs lean. if running lean at full temp, the IAT sensor could be more likely to be at fault.

im sure others will have more ideas for ya. good luck bud.
