so im guessing the gas cap lights gone now and this morning the cel came on the code is a leak in the evac system like you guys said it probably would be.. is there anything i can replace to fix it or do i need to just take it on in to the dealer? i have no warranty on the car:nonono:

Hell yeah you can attempt to fix it. First step is careful visual inspection for loose hoses or cracked components as was said.
i looked under it earlyer today and i saw it had something leaking on the right side on the side of the gas tank and alittle on the shock it didnt smell like anything though maybe its just a stain?? where would i begin to look?? i just bought the car thursday.. dont dealerships offer like a 30day warranty?? i guess i should call them and find out before i go digging in..

Yes, take it back to the dealer. Be polite but firm.

make sure you don't have a fuel leak since you saw some staining.

besides that, it should not harm the car to drive it with just the EVAP system not working properly. you might get some fuel odors, but that's about it.

have you set an appointment at the dealer so they know there is a problem??

yea i did its going to be thursday they said to bring it in then and they would check it out.. the gas cap light also came back on this morning.. this is getting to be a pain.. when you buy a car you dont expect to have all these problems. i guess it isnt that bad though it could be worse... i just hope they fix it.

If you bought the car from a dealer recently you shouldn't even have bought a gas cap. It's there problem to find and fix it.

That is a key reason to buy from a dealer, you have peace of mind knowing that if something goes wrong a few days after you pick it up, they'll take care of it.

Like Kilgore said " Be polite but firm."
