Bought my ceramic coated headers at the same time my neighbor bought his HTS coated MAC headers. Mine still look new like the day I bought them and his have a few rust spots scattered throughout. Both our headers are ~1 year old

Hts coating holds well also just not shiny looking like the ceramic coating.

If you are not worried about looks and just performance chrome is cool then.

Yeah the problem with the HTS coating is that it can chip easily and that is where the rust will start. Ceramic will look the same forever. But chrome works just as good so like 94SC50 said, unless your Worried about looks chrome will work.

My ceramic headers look exactly the same as when I got them in 1995 or 96.

Also anything that is chrome holds in heat...which is bad.....nothing on an engine should ever be crome im my opinion....yea it looks good but heat=bad....if you can afford it get ceramic coating...if not just paint them with some high heat exhaust paint..just my 2 cents.

PS. Ceramic coating will eventually wear off also..especially on high horsepower engines in humid climates.

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

Save the money and buy the chrome. If you really want to cover them get em jet-hot coated. The ceramic stuff comes off as soon as you start the engine. You want to keep the heat in on exhaust systems.

Ceramic coating is pretty much permanent. I have the chrome and they do turn blue closest to the heads.

RC's headers still look brand new after 10 years, blower and humidity.

HTS will eventually chip then rust. I would avoid that coating.

My ceramic coated E/L BBK's are still shining bright since I installed them last fall. Got them on ebay for about $50 less than new. And, they were never used.

In 2004 it was probably about $100 bucks per side. I wonder how many of these cars are still out there? Or how many of the posters have already died?

Me too which is why I'm still searching and gathering information and will make some calls and find out places near me if any that can do it

also gathering info on if the ceramics will hold up as some say no and some said there's lasted over 10 yrs when to present at the time of the reply to that current thread.

Well if some of these ghosts respond I'll get to hear it too which will be fun (most of the time it seems like it's 3 or 4 of us responding). I don't hear much about ceramic coating anymore honestly, not sure why that is. Maybe because of how common stainless is these days, or because those tiny power gains ("keeping in the heat") aren't worth the hassle or expense. Heck it could be the EPA banned the chemicals or something. I haven't thought much about it in a while myself..

cool man I definitely will be inquiring as to why myself. I can see possibly going with the BBK's if they are recommended by enough people and not too many disadvantages or fitment issues of using them. I think my basani X I bought in 2002 is stainless and think back then it was $400. I can see that a set of stainless longtubes would be ...............................................................High as heck probably lol
