Cervinis Cobra-R Hood

Well guess what I JUST ordered! HOOD PINS!

Jeez, after seeing that video I just looked at it like buying insurance for my digital camera. I mean, wow...

Also, thank you tjm73 because that is the best price on that particular kit I have seen and they owe you a commission. :p

EDIT- Wait... nevermind apparently you can't order from this ford racing site. Oh well I will find them online.

By the way, since you guys have been so helpful I thought just for fun I would show you precisely why I bought a new hood in the first place along with buying the entire front of the body brand new. The reason is because I hit a deer with my car and he messed my whole night up...

Here is a link to a close up of the point of impact and if you look closely there is still deer hair in the cracks...

So in short, my car got :owned: and this is just one of the many steps I am taking to not only restore it but make it slightly better. Oh, and my other headlights got totally destroyed, and I had to put the stock originals back on. Thank goodness the damage is 100% cosmetic and the core support or none of that was damaged. Small miracles happen I guess.

I have the Cobra R hood but for my '98. No hood pins. I'm very pleased with the quality. It needed very little prep work before painting and fits like I expect it to. I don't have insulation either and have had no issues. It's a great hood and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to buy a new hood.

What kind of bumper are you gonna get? Stock or something else.

Also, what kind of Cobra R hood are you gonna get? 2000 style or 1995 style.

Because I had to buy so much crap I ended up having to go with the old stock bumper due to costs. Oh, and I got the 2000 style Cobra-R vented. I wanted to get a Stalker bumper to go with the hood but that would have ran my budget out of whack.

Cool. It'll look good. If you had the money you should have went with and '01 Cobra bumper.

Oh I know, that would have looked sexy with the 01 Cobra bumper or the Stalker one. When I get my next job I am going to save up and upgrade my front bumper most likely to an 01 Cobra since it does look better, just costs quite a bit.

Here is a picture of my Cervini's 2000 Corbra R lift-off hood. They make excellent hoods. As a matter of fact, my paint shop said it was the best aftermarket hood they had ever seen. I installed it myself, and it fit perfectly, out of the box. Customer service was excellent. I recommend anyone with a fiberglass hood use hood pins. By the way, the stock Mustang hood is fiberglass with a steel frame around it.

I thought the factory hoods were steel?

I thought the same thing even though the density of the material was all off I never bothered to check. Then when I hit the deer, I looked at how the hood buckled and cracked and realized that they were fiberglass. I was pretty surprised. Anyhow, yeah, everything since 1994 has a fiberglass hood.

Also, I got the hood pins and I have a recomendation: If you are in the southeast region of the US, buy Ford Racing parts from Barnett Racing, Inc. Those guys are awesome. They next day shipped my hood pins for free. Plus they have about as good of a price on Ford Racing products that you can find.

Also, jimfitzgerald that hood looks awesome. I am pretty excited about getting mine now... well I already was but moreso now.
