ok i am about to do a cfi to carb swap on my 84 5.0. I have read the fletcher article that says how to do it but its not very detailed. What problems should i look out for while doing this? what parts do i need besides carb and intake manifold? and what CFM/carb should i get?

Do this.... Weiand stealth intake!! 600 to 750 holley with vac secondary ( adjustable) Dura spark Dizzy ( 1983 HO) and the MSD6al box!! the AOD if there is one will mod and work on the Holley! and your done!! all the wire harnes , save the power/on ign wire can be removed and ..... sweeeeet!!

Just me...................................

The 85 dizzy is ready for the roller cams... that is HYD roller cams.. MOST solid roller cams, they will need the Bronze gear on it. just remove the stock gear and install the bronze gear.

"that ticket , Thumper??" I look at this.. the duraspark is in every autozone in the world, yes!! 65-85.00 ! you will/can modify the springs and advance settings inside the duraspark ( articles all over on "spinning in the Dizzy" ) Now you have a stock looking modified Dizzy for 85-90 bucks vs the 145-165.00 for the trick MSD or other !! the MSD 6AL is a must . I like making things fo fast on stock modified parts, and spen the extra money on other stuff.. lol

You will not need over 600 on a mostly stock car. If you were to go 700 or up on a stock 5.0 your car would run like crap.
