My current Ebrake handle is broken and after doing a Search here I see that these are weak and break often.

I am considering boring a hole lengthwise in the handle and using acraglas epoxy bedding material with an8/32" screw in the bored hole. This should provide some additional support. I can dye the epoxy black so it will not show on the end of the handle.

Anyone else tried this?

Also do I need to destroy the old handle to remove it?

You'll need to back up the shaft with a buck or large hammer (held by a helper) and using a hammer and pin punch tap the retaining pin into the tube. Then slide the handle off, slide the new handle on, and tap the new retaining pin into the hole. If the handle is a loose fit on the shaft, use a piece if soft aluminum soda can as a shim when you twist the new handle on.
