People are like fish. They are attracted to shiney things.
If I didnt clean the hell out of my engine bay then I would wager my Cobra wouldnt of won a couple months back. So far all the cars that have won in 4.6 have been clean enough to eat off the exhaust manafolds :nonono:

Before I go on, notice above that I said people can vote for what they want. I'm all for freedom. :flag: So from here out, you're just getting my opinion.

Just because an engine bay isn't sparkly doesn't make a car half-ass.

:D

Besides....nominations come from members. If people want the really badass cars to be nominated instead of the half-ass ones....then they should get up off their lazy arses and nominate them.

I've been nominated a couple times and am OK losing to the cars that are cleaner and better built. Like last months, the car was basically better than new in all aspects. Every bit of it was new and shiny, and it was built to go as well.

But since everyone's criteria for a nice car is different, thus we have open nominations and open voting. Seems pretty logical to me.

Never said a car had to be sparkly to be badass. It always helps, though. I agree with what you said about nominations. I also think its the responsibility of the owners of said badass cars to advertise more. :nice:

Personally, I'd rather vote for a Fox that STILL does DD duty than a trailer queen.

To me, the DD is still earning it's keep and isn't just a decoration. Like Darkwriter77's '84 LX or ryan218s vert. They're both still pretty clean too.

I have to disagree. To me a Fox is a toy, and shouldn't be exposed to the daily abuse a DD is. Even when I was just a broke college kid, I drove a beat up, 200$ Crown Vic for 5 years just so my Fox could stay out of the rain and snow. Don't get me wrong, I prefer a street driven hot rod over a trailer queen any day, but I wouldn't go as far as saying I want to subject it to rush hour traffic 365 days a year.

Not to derail or fight.....

but could you clarify some of the half-assed nominations. I take some offense to this being a car that has been nominated. A half-ass nomination = a half ass car and I'm just curious which cars you're calling half-assed.

Maybe "half ass" was a poor choice of wording. "Unfinished", "nearly stock" or "not unique" would probably be better.

I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, so I won't give you any specific examples, but I do think there is a difference in a "nice Fox" and "a Fox well loved by its owner".

Again, that is just my opinion, and I hope no one is thinking "gosh, is he talking about MY car?"

Man, my eyes are so tired today. Get this...

I voted "yes", meant to hit "no", so I adjusted the poll's vote count to accurately reflect my vote.

I have to put my .02 in here. I see your point, as the cars are serving multiple purposes and thats what fox's do best, but in the same regard, I feel like I wouldn't vote for a DD that isn't drag raced, autocrossed, and driven long distances... I personally do not DD my fox, as I own a nice DD, so therefore I might not get the vote from you (which works for me either way) but just because it isn't DD, does NOT mean it's a decoration. My car probably gets abused more so than any of the DDs on this site. :nice: If you don't believe me, ask 1990Coupe about it... :D

On the issue at hand, I say leave how it is, how it is. I feel like even though it isn't specified, this is the fox 5.0 area, and the SN95 guys have their SN95 area? Might just be me.

Either way it doesn't matter to me as I can't compete anymore for a while!

Actually, I did vote for you. All I'm saying is ALL Fox 5.0 Mustangs should have the right to run for FOTM. :nice:

Truth be told....I appreciate just being nominated with mine. Its far from perfect...hopefully will hit the 1/4 in the 12's and is capable of AutoX way beyond my skillz. Either way I'm proud of it and appreciate being nominated!

Although I did pull some favors last time. I keeeed I keeeed :D
