well today i finally got around to buying a new iac. i drove the stang to autozone (which i hate, but am low on cash) and the engine obviously got hot. fast forward to installing it with the engine hot, cause i was at a friends and had to do it and upon finishing tightening the second bolt (bottom) it felt like it was turing but it snapped off. i really dont want to drill out and tap the plenium (cause ive never done it before) so ive been trying to decide what to do. does anyone have a stock plenium laying around i can buy? or would it not be that difficult to drill it out? sorry for the long post..i cant believe i even did this. thanks in advance

very easy if you use lot's of WD-40 and bolt out. You can get it at autozone for like $6.00

You have to retap the hole or buy a new plenum. I would retap it, being the cheaper option. Also, return that autozone IAC....it's a POS. You need a motorcraft one from the dealer.

I think you could drive it like that for a while, just keep checking on it. The IAC is one of the easiest things to change but sometimes even the easy things can be hard.

I have my stock one in my garage. It came off my 2004 GT. Got a price in mind?

Thats going to allow unmetered air into the intake so you may get some driveability problems or p0171,p0174 codes.

Since it broke off putting it in you cross threaded the bolt. If you want to fix it take the plenum off and drill out the old bolt and tap the hole.. Just be careful when you start bolts.
