changing my clutch

I'm trying to pull my transmission so that I can replace my clutch, but I can't get my transmission loose. I've got a 2k GT with a 5spd, I think it might be a 3650, but I'm not sure. My Haynes manual shows 5 bolts, 3 on one side 2 on the other. I've pulled them all but it won't budge. I felt around and found what felt like another one on the top of the trany right up next to the fire wall. First of all i can't get a wrench on it, and second, if i did I wouldn't have room to work it. I'm to the point of throwing things, does anyone have any advice. Thanks

there's 2 up top... you've gotta drop the back end of the tranny w/ a jack, and get at the top two w/ a lot of extensions and/or impact wrench.

Oh yeah... drain your tranny fluid before you drop the back end of the tranny, or you'll have a big mess pouring out the output shaft hole

You have a T-45..... 3650's are mid-01 and newer.

those top to are a pain to get out....do like the other guys have said and drop the end of the tranny. then what might help (helped me on my buddies 96 cobra) is the get a soft piece of plywood and put it inbetween the jack and the front of the engine and slowly lift it...causing the front of the engine to tip up therefore causing the back to lower which ultimatly shifts the bellhousing down more so you can get to the bolts easier. Oh by the way if u try this make sure u put a good peice of wood between the jack and the pan otherwise u might have a mess on your hands

I jacked up the back of the Tranny and got them from the top......

Taking it out was easy. Putting it back was a little harder.

Well, I finally finished it. Man was it a beast to get back in. The bell housing (at the top ) rubs the floor pan when trying to push the tranny up which meant I couldn't get the shaft lined up and started though the clutch plate. I olny had on jack and was using it on the tranny so my buddy and I cut a 2x4 to fit between my fenders and used a ratcheting tie down to pull up on the crank pulley the drop the back of the engine. At that point we could man handle it up and in. It is definitly a 2 man job at that point. But I'm stoked that its done. While I was at it, since I had to take off my exhaust anyway, I swapped the X-pipe with cats for a off road H-pipe. I can't wait till i get the clutch adjusted to my liking, this thing is gonna fly!!! To all you guys who gave me advice I really appreciate it. Keep 'em between the lines

oh, I forgot, I replaced my gear oil while I was going through this, filling that thing up was a pain. I used a 2 foot length of water hose routed up into the cab though where the shifter bezel would be. The other end was pushed into the fill hole on the tranny, I cut the tip off of the cap and stuck it in the hose and squezed carefully, that worked best. I hope someone going through the same thing might benefit from my bumblings.
