Changing Rear End Cover...Advice

I'm going to drain my rear and put a MAC girdle on my car tomorrow. What fluid should I use and how much do I need. I heard about 2 quarts or until it's full, but how can you tell if it's full? when it comes out the of the fill hole? I also read something about a friction modifier. Do I need some of that too. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes.... 2 qts and the 4 oz of the friction modifier....Get the modifier in with the first qt....fill til it weeps out the hole..

I use Ford dif lube myself...

Ford recommends this stuff...Personally I run it and 99% do...It helps the clutches in the dif grab "friction modifier" its 4.00 a wack...I would say your tech doesn't know fords to well... :D

Yep, just get a hand pump that fits on the bottle, and keep pumping until it starts to overflow.

Definately get the friction modifier. I know for a fact that auto zone sells it as well.

Got the friction modifier in there. With the girdle, it took almost 6 quarts to fill it till it came out the fill hole. Thanks for your replies.

6 quarts!

The different ones I have used are still right around 3, but they get real close to needing a little more depending on how much of each bottle you get in there. I have used FRPP (T/A) and Strange.
