changing the quadrant

I have the quadrant off. the problem I have is the clutch fork moving. people have told me that the clutch fork should never move. since the clutch fork is moving, it is moving north and south. it will shift forward toward the front of the car and with one finger I can move it back to the back of the car. so when the 2 nuts are tight on the fork, it will move and the nuts will be loose because it is shifting. I don't know if the clutch fork is going out or something that holds it in place came off but the clutch fork is moving making it hard to tighten the 2 nuts onto the fork because it will shift back and they will be loose again. please help!

I got the cable and quadrant on. thanks for the help guys! now I just have to check if it is narmal for the clutch fork to shake when the car is ideling. I can look in past my 8th spark plug and see the clutch fork moving and because it is shaking, it is making a loud noise. the noise goes away if I stick a broom in there against it. the noise goes away or when I put my foot down on the clutch it goes away. is this going to mess up my clutch or throw out bearing? normally, when there is a noise and it goes away when you press on the clutch, it is the throw out bearing but i changed it when I changed my clutch. the noise goes away if I put something against the fork so it cant shake?

has anyone had problems with noise coming from the quadrant when the car is in high rpms. when I am in first and second at about 3,000 I will hear a lot of noise coming from the quadrant in the car. the quadrant kit that I bought from ford did not come with the spacers. is that the cause of the noise? they told me you can make it work without the spacers?
