My cars got 68,000kms on it, (not miles) but im going to change my 5 Speed trans fluid over to that Penzoil Syncromesh (think its the best?) what do you guys think about changeing my rear end fluid, it was done by the last owner since he installed new gears but not sure...

How hard is it to change trans fluid? I dont feel like taking off my short shifter and pouring it in thru there, should I just get a mechanic to do it?

thanks

It doesn't hurt to change the diff fluid if you really want to, it can get gritty after time. It's simple to do.
You have to take off the lower diff cover bolts to drain some fluid, then take completely off and seal it again.
Use a rachet ext to take out the plug on the side facing the front.
I used a tube to get the fluid in and you can use the same one for the trans, just make sure its clean.
Trans is the same way with plugs on the side of the tranny. :nice:
