Charge Slowly Decreases, Got Stranded Today...Used Pencils...

Today I was going around Knoxville and noticed my charge level was decreasing. I drove around 15 mins with it on the N in NORMAL and then it finally went. I got a booster box and boosted it up, and it stayed at the N for a long time, then, when I fiddled with the 3 wire harness on the alternator, it started acting normal again. I had to pin the 3 wire harness toward the cab (w/ some pencils!) for it to act normal... Anyone had this problem? BTW its a new alternator, not even 4 months old. AND I cleaned all terminals...

Sounds like a wire is loose and not making a proper contact.

I have the same problem. But I think it's my underdrive pulleys.

Its def. not my pullies, it def. the wire contact problem. Can I get a new harness or do I just need to push that wire in further. One problem, the wires are all surrounded by a rubber insert...i wish I had my cam to take a picture.
