Check engine light and PI intake

So im getting a check engine light. I have a 1998 GT with the PI intake, and supposedly a sensor isnt hooked up, could take a picture for you guys. Traded the car from my friend and he told me their isnt a hook up for the 98 to the PI intake and it throws the code. this normal or what

Is it the temp sensor? The NPI cars have 2 wheras the PI only has one. Most tap the intake where the sensor would go on the NPI intake. Or you could extend the wires and install it in the block near the divers side motor mount.

hmm i dont feel like removing the manifold and all that junk to tap it. What is all involved to install it in the block near the driver side motor mount?

i also heard something about splicing the wires into the other sensor?

Pretty sure you can't splice the other temp sensor as you would half the power going to them. I've seen some guys take off the thermostat cover and tap that. That wouldn't require taking off the PI Intake in order to tap that. Hope that fixes it for you. Did you try and clear the code by resetting the puter?

That wouldn't require taking off the PI Intake in order to tap that. Hope that fixes it for you. Did you try and clear the code by resetting the puter?

i got the car from a friend of mine, he explained the situation, and said he never had the chance to tap the intake for the sensor. The code is tripped as soon as the car is started so a reset doesnt really help

if i cut and splice wires i just want to make sure it works, dont want to be hacking stuff up for no reason
