Righto. I just swapped in that fabbed CAI box that I was asking about earlier. Made it out of some sheet aluminum. Cost a total of 10 bucks at Home Depot, I'll post photos when I get them, I think it looks real nice.

After I put it in, the Check Engine light would come on intermittantly. Today it stayed on for a full half hour, and I stopped in to Auto Zone to have them pull the codes.

They came up with:

172: 02 sensor
186: MAF
332: EGR Position

That's what they told me they were.

Now, during the making of the CAI, I spilled a bit of silicon gel on the MAF mesh, I wiped it off, but I'm willing to bet that there was enough residue to mess up the MAF. With the MAF giving innacurate readings, would that cause the EGR and O2 sensor to go out of wack as well? I wasn't getting any check engine light before I did the swap, so I'm highly doubting those three went at once.

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

With the changes you've made, it may take a bit for the ECU to adapt. It may not be a bad idea to reset the ECU and let it learn with a clean slate. You did mount the IAT sensor somewhere on the CAI plumbing upstream of the MAF right?

Did you use "sensor safe" silicone?

Don't know if it was "sensor safe" but I just spent a half hour scrubbing it with a toothbrush, and I think I got it cleaned enough.

I don't know exactly what the IAT is, but if it's the sensor that plugged into the back of the old air box, then yes, the MAF adaptor that I got for the cone filter had a hole for it, and I got it plugged in there.

Probably going to clean and reset my IAC tomorrow, and I'll reset my ECU then. (Just unplug the battery for a minute, right?)

Yes unplug the battery for like 5 min. I would just take the screen out and say the hell with it call it good. I dont have one on my 5.0 stang peace

If chk light comes on intermittant it may be a saved error code. Clear it and see if it returns.

I just recently cleaned my maf sensor due to code 72, probably oil from the K&N got on it, but they won't admit to that
