check engine light (not a mustang)

Ok my girl friend drives a 2000 focus, and the check engine light is on. I ran the codes and it came back small evap emmisions leak. Could this be the charcoal canister, or am i going in the wrong direction.

Try replacing the fuel cap, sometimes a leaky fuel cap will turn on that code.
