The guy that's building this truck started out with no experience in metal fabrication and two pieces of 2x3 framerail stock.

I am going up, right now, to help him with some final sanding. He's hoping to get it to paint by this weekend.

The ambulance is one he bought from a local FD that no longer needed it. He paid $500 for it. It will be his tow vehicle for the firetruck, when it's done.

What do you think?

What's it got for an engine?

A 19hp Kubota 3 cylinder diesel. He mated that to a Triumph TR4 manual transmission and it puts power through a 6" ring gear rear-end from "some kind of old small car". (We're thinking Fiat or Nash.) NO ONE makes anything even close, for a clutch to mate those two together. It's all "one off" stuff, made by him.

There is no way it will be in paint this weekend. I looked it over, it's got about 30-40 hours of sanding to be done, before it will even see the first coats of primer. Grrrrr! (Anybody wanna help sand? :rlaugh: )

Thanks for the kind words. I'll forward a link to this thread to him.
