My buddy has one and its an amazing car. I wouldn't take it over the GT500 but its still damn nice. Also guys have already went low 13s in the auto, 13.2 has been the best so far.

Yes the car is huge and it makes the Shelby look small beside it. LOL

Exactly my point.

They don't get much seat time behind the wheel to get the best launching and shifting techniques down, and it shows in their slower ET's than someone who has owned the car, or is very framiliar with it could do.

I like the new challenger. I like the retro look but I would not pay that much for it. I would rather get a GT500 for that price. I bet they left the tarction control on when they were launching it. I am sure that by turning the traction control off you can get a better launch.

its sad cuz these same dingus's just put out a version (SRT-4) of the caliber that will beat this oversized, overpriced, over anticipated piece of garbage. And anyone who has their hopes up that the new camaro will be anything different than this last obomination from Chrystler needs to have their head examined. Any car that gets cut from the product line makes a complete debacle of a return when some genius gets the bright idea to bring it back. I would bet 99.9% of you guys haven't seen one in real lif let alone drove one. Your looking at one time with it thinking thats what it runs and talking s**t about it. Whether you want to belive it the car is a great car. It rides awsome runs strong and has a great interior. It runs right with all the other SRT8 cars. It WILL beat a new 05+ GT me and my buddy raced one and pulled around 2-3 cars on it from a dig to 110.

Also they sticker fulley loaded at $41-42k thats with my gig, sunroof and kicker sound system.

I love Mustangs but you guys are talking out your ass on a car you know nothing about.

im gonna have to agree with yellow gt. Im a 100 percent Mustang guy, but here in michigan i prolly see a challenger a day and they r cool lookin cars. and

Personally I like the car alot, & would love to own one...Its the best looking "New Retro" car imo, but it is way too heavy. It would make a nice DD though.

On another note the GT500KR is my favorite new american car, but whats up with the wheels that ended up on the production version? They are horrible & they remind me of something that belons on a chrysler sebring or dodge intrepid???

Forgive me if I am wrong, but isn't the under-powered 3V 300hp stick GT's hitting mid to low 13's just like the porky pig Challengers? I mean really, there are always the few, the chosen, the proud who can really drive a car for what it's worth.

I believe what you were trying to relay is that fact that on the street you are usually up against the driver, not the machine. So before any magazine racers go and get big nuts syndrome, go out a race a few and make sure to get it on video.

Sorry but for the price of that I'll take my old 1973 Ralley Challenger over that hunk of **** any day of the week. Looks nicer too.

What you need to realize is every new car thats coming out it going to be in the 3900+lb range and you can take that to the bank. Now there will be exceptions like the Corvette but 99% of the cars will be in that area. I loved how everyone called the Shelby a pig but now that the Challenger has come out and the specs on the Camaro have come out the Shelby is going to be a "lightweight". The new safety standards has added alot of weight and then add on that cars in general are getting bigger you end up with a car in the 4000lb range.

Yes there are a few people that have gone low 13s in the new GTs but for as new as the callenger is and being an automatic hitting 13.2 aint to bad. Plus when the sticks come out I'm sure there will be some 12sec passes in stock form.

The only reason I brought it up was because you said we were "talking out our asses about a car we knew nothing about". That may be true that I have never driven one of the new Challengers but I own an original Ralley Challenger so I do know about that. Based off of what I read on what the new Challenger can do I don't ever want to drive one. Well at least not for 40k or higher, they can keep it for that price.

Hell for 40 thousand dollars I could go on ebay or just search the want-ads and find a fully restored original Challenger for that price and then I would have a faster more attractive looking car that would retain its value for years to come. Im not trying to be a dick or start an argument but thats just how I feel.
