does the ripp kit make the blower whine a little more than normal..I want to actually hear the whine because I cant really hear it right now..is there any other intake or way I can get some more noise out of the car
I was running the Chicane kit before- it was definitely an improvement over stock as far as intake/blower noise is concerned. I took off that Chicane filter and I am now running a Densecharger meter forward kit to a 90MM lightning MAF to the Chicane upper pipe to a 70 MM TB. This is all on a Series I though. Not sure what you guys are running
I think just about any aftermarket intake will amplify the blower whine. Though the MAC on my car netted 6+ RWHP, my favorite thing is hearing the beautiful intake note made by the little M90 under load.
I have the ripp kit under load it definetly whines pretty loud. At idle or cruising its not noticable. BUT if you do the pulley make sure you have a custom tune done and fuel system upgrade, or your motor will go bye bye...
Series I and II blowers can accept the 4.6L 2V kit from MAC with some minor modifications. The upper pipe needs to be cut just right on both ends so everything lines up between the MAF and the non-stock position of the throttle body. This was what Chicane used to provide to customers before developing their intake system.
so if you compare the Chicane to the MAC..chicane says they get 8 more HP out of there unit compared to the MAC...... Does one make more noticeable blower whine than the other??
I called to order a Ripp kit two days ago and found them to be very rude. I tryed to order the kid and they said that they didn't have any in stock and didn't know when they would get the rest in. Then they hung up on me... I just don't understand how people can run a business this way...
