I've always said that chirping tires is more of an indicator of how crappy/worn your tires are and not how much power you were making.

My stock goodyears were a perfect example.

When the car was new, i could chirp 2nd gear and that was it (car is a 5-spd)

Around 15K miles, i discovered i could now chirp 3rd gear.

At around 36K miles...when i replaced them due to wear...i could chirp 4th gear.

I put nice sticky Bridgestone potenza S-03's on. These tires are like glue. I could NOT chirp 2nd gear anymore...at all. Beleive me i tried.

Now they have about 30K miles on them, and i can now chirp 2nd and sometimes get 3rd to chirp.

My car is bone stock..has always been stock.

agreed, my 3200 10" helped a lot. But i would have gone around 3400 if i did it again, but i guess im glad i didnt go a lot higher the way gas prices are

edit, but this doesn't help out 3rd gear, it should be locked-up well before then

not saying it does, but he'd sure feel more sotp with a stall converter than an intake and cams.

I LOVE my 3800 stall.

Psssh. I chirp 5th gear all the time.

And when 5th gear tops out...I just start over from the begginning. Reverse. Now that's when you get some serious chirpage.

Did I mention I'm in the market for a new tranny? PM me.

I want to see some videos of how the stall reacts. My car feels like it gets up and goes good. I can burn first with ease and she will scream a loud chirp in second all day no matter what kind of tire I run (my girlfriend says its annoying but I like it). I think 3800 might be too much for me I was thinking of 3200-3400. What’s stock isn't like 2400 or 2800?
