Has anyone seen or have this kit installed on their 66' mustang?? I am thinking about getting this kit and I was wondering what the difficulty of installing this kit is. I have no welding expirence so installing it myself is out of the question. I just wanted to know if anyone has this kit installed in their car. The link to the website is:

Click on roll cages and look at the kits offered. Let me know what you guys think, becuase Autopower I feel is WAAAAYYY overpriced.

I like the look of the 7001 for a streeter, nice price too.

Looking at the options, I hope 7020 (4130 Chrome Moly 8 Point Roll Cage) isn't an EXTRA 470 bucks.

Anyway, I haven't seen these in person, couldn't attest to the quality, but the price looks alright to me.

I have used and installed quite a few kits from CACW and there stuff is good, Just remember it is pretty general and you need to trim to fit, and unless you are building a a car that is a full blown racer you dont need chrome moly.

Guys I think we are getting a little off topic here. I wanted to know if you had any pictures of this kit instaled.

Fastcoup68: Do you have any pics of this cage installed on a car?? How much fab work do you think I have to do to get the cage to fit right??

I am comparing this cage to the one made by Autopower. The autopower is 4 times the cost, so if I have to pay someone to weld this cage maybe its cheaper to buy the autopower. Any suggestions or comments or ideas are welcome.

you are going to have to trim every bar that this kit comes with. then you will have to fishmouth all the bars also. Like I said it is a pretty general kit that you are going to have to spend alot of time on. This is done this way because everyone puts these things in differently so they give you enough material to do what ever you want. I have never sen the auto set up but I suspect it is more of a (bolt in style) that you wont have to do much to it but weld it in. The only problem I have is that I would want to know if the auto kit is legal in what ever type of sanctioning body you will use it in, alot of autocross type rollbars are not NHRA legal. If you intend to use this car at a NHRA type of event I recomend you get a rule book and make sure it will be legal. It would suck to put this thing in and go to an event and not be able to pass tech.
