Chrome Trim

Do you guy's know of anyone that restores chrome trim? My drip rails are beat up and I really don't want to use new pieces if I can help it, I've heard they don't fit right. Is there anywhere I can send it for getting the dings out and refinishing it?

You can get them rechromed. I would just contact a body shop and they can refer you to a chromer. They may even be able to do it for you and repair the drip rails and send them out to be chromed.

Yes, they are stainless. What kind of condition are your drip rails in? You can remove them and polish & buff them to get them to look new again. I'm sure there are also shops out there you could send the pieces to to have them do it as well, just don't know of any first hand.

Much of that fit problem comes from people trying to put them on repainted cars. They were meant to clip on like "C"s, top edge then bottom. One coat of paint too many and this becomes a disaster, even if you are using your originals.

They have tons of small little dings in them I guess accumulated over the years. I took them off to replace my vinyl top so maybe new ones will fit ok for me since I didn't add any paint.
