I'd hardly call being beaten by a Honda Civic being beaten by a "better car"
if you lose, your car is not as good as his, IE his is better. better car by design, no. better car because he won, yes.
It's shameful to be beat by any Civic no matter what's under the hood!!!
why? if they put in the wrenchwork to make their cars better than how it came from the factory, theres no shame in that. any car can be better than what it is, some easier than others but all can be modified to some extent.
if i raced a civic and lost, ****ing props to him for building a badass machine. if you have the ability to take your stock 150hp beast and make enough to take on my ~450whp car, you have my respect, and if you did the work yourself and are knowledgeable, we will be in touch.
This girl's boyfriend claims to have a civic si with a "stage 2 turbo kit and 'NOS'", should I run him? for some reason i call

..because when i asked what kind of turbo kit it was they signed off.
they are likely full of ****. sounds like standard ricer lingo. just the fact he called it NOS (the likelyhood of him actually running a NOS Nitrous system, as compared to NX or ZEX or whatever else, is low) shows the amount of lacking knowledge. everything sounds too good to be true, meaning its probably not. a turbo+nitrous civic si? the amount of money invested in such a setup would be insane. youre talking at least 5k for a motor that can handle that much abuse, 3-5k for the turbo kit (unless they can fab themselves), and another 500-1000$ for nitrous kit, plus likely a better tranny, and whatever else honda failed to engineer for 400+whp. a SI itself still will run 10-12k for a low mileage one. thats one awfully expensive project, after all is said and done he might as well have gotten a Terminator, ported eaton +boltons and ran equal or better times than fwd roasting the tires at half track. or hell, for that amount, a dsm in the single digits.
