Clean up engine bay...

I want to clean up my engine compartment, I see others cars were you can see lots of metal underhood and see the ground, you guys probly know what I'm talking about. My question is what have you taken out or hidden to clean up the appearance underhood on your car? This is a driver, not a racer.

Smog pump removal along w/the hoses that go with it will open up the lower area so you can see the ground. AC removal/power steering relocation will also help because it changes the positioning of the PS.

So if all you want is to see the ground when you look down, that'll do ya nicely. If you want to make everything look tidy, neat, etc., relocating wires into the fender wells is what you'll want to do.

Also do an electric fan conversion too. That cleans up as well!

weld all the unnecessary holes, relocate the battery to the trunk.

About the smog, theres a "box" shaped deal mounted to the pass side with some hoses. I started to remove it but seen there was wires going to it. Can I take it off? Its part of the smog, right? I like the ideas, guess I better get to work!!

thats your evap cannister. id suggest not removing it. it relieves vapor pressure from your gas tank, and prevents gas fumes from exiting to the atmosphere. (very bad if you park in a garage!) its not related to the smog equiptment....

i wouldnt really worry about that. Just rip that off, unless you have emissions.

Another item to note is vacuum lines. I've removed a/c, smog, EGR, and cruise - so I don't need the vacuum tree anymore. Also, my evap canister is gone (and I park the car in an attached garage and never smell gas!) so the only vacuum lines I have are a 3/8" line from manifold to brake booster, and a 1/8" line to the FPR.

What about your PCV? Not exactly a vacuum line, but I was wondering if you still have that too.

What vac lines did you end up taking off. I know you need for the booster, the fpr, and intake i have one running to my heater/ac also?
