Cleaned my engine with Gunk....pics.

nice engines guys, i think i'm inspired to clean mine this weekend. anyways, are there any other methods to cleaning it? i'm still pretty nervous about spraying water on my engine.

Im also afraid of cleaning the engine with water....
I actually picked up a Scunci Hand Held Steam Cleaner the other day and some cd2 Engine detailer, and a couple rags, and cleaned my engine. I trust steam cleaning the engine more than just watering it all down with a hose..

My engine look alot cleaner and newer now..yay

I haven't had any problems yet and I always use a hose. The important thing it just to do it on a hot day and dry what you can get to with a rag. Then leave the hood up for a couple hours in the sun. When you're confident that you don't have water on any electrical parts, start the engine and let it heat up. This will evap. whats left of the water. I haven't flooded a plug yet, and if I do, I'll just replace it. When my POS intake broke it flooded 2 of the plugs. Car ran like hell. I replaced them and it was fine.
