Just spray it out, and get a soft bristle brush to get all the particles off the filter. Make sure it's dry though before you put it back on, that's about it.

I just use the k&n recharge kit, use the cleaner, then use the oil (sparingly), I'll let it sit for around 15-30 min, (or whatever the intructions say) then reinstall.

I use the K&N cleaner too. Just spray it on & let it sit for ~10 min. Be sure to get any BIG debri off first with a small brush. I used an old toothbrush, lol. Then I spray it with a garden hose (on REALLY low pressure!) Let that dry. Then put a light coat of K&N oil on there. Let that dry. Install.

Ditto. And try to spray from the inside of the filter out so not to engrane debris into the filter. Peace
