i just painted my pony rims silver and they look fine but do i need to clear coat them?

i used duplicolor wheel paint which is the crapiest paint i have ever used. it was almost impossible to not get zebra stripes because it had some cheap nozzle on it.

ya i clear coated my old ponies....helped the luster. For the second set of rims i refinished i used some wheel paint fron Jegs....muuuuch better overall...didnt have all that damn flake in it so give blotchy color as easily

FWIW, I had better luck using VHT Brake Caliper Paint when I painted the 10-hole rims on Frankenstang's notch. Spray was a lot more consistent and didn't splatter, and the paint has held up great over time - no clearcoat necessary. That, and I couldn't find a gloss black in Duplicolor's wheel paint brand. :notnice:

Just something to consider if you decide to repaint 'em again.
