I had a code come up for my IMRC , and was wondering:

If the sensor is bad, will the code keep popping up?

The IMRC is either bad or needs cleaning, I cleared the code
and it hasn't come back on.

If the sensor was bad, wouldn't the code just keep triggering?

I am hoping that is the case, because then I can just clean the
IMRC with some seafoam and hope for the best instead
of tearing the engine down to the IMRC thinking it's module failure.

Well it depends. If a sensor is bad and the ecu keeps reading it is not within the parameters, then yes once it relearns it will trigger a MIL.(Malfunction Indicater lamp)

However, you could have a bad IMRC accuator, or something. One way to tell is start the engine, open the hood, rev the engine past 3300 and you should see 2 black cables on the backside of the intake move. They are opening the IMRCs.

So if I clear the code, it could take some time for it to pup up again then.

I'll have to check for movement of the cables tomorrow. The car bogs like
I am towing something...

If the cables are good I'm going to seafoam the engine a few times and see what happens...
