This is starting to irritate me. I drove to an airshow a month a go and they made everyone park in a field. There was a big dip in the dirt road that was bigger then I thought and took it a little to fast and having 3 people in the car I bottomed out bad and heard a nice metal clunk sound. Ever since that day if I go over a small bump I will hear clunk clunk coming from what seems like the back passenger side. Sometimes I will hear a rattle other times it’s a clunk. It doesn't do it all the time so its tuff to figure out where it’s coming from. I try pushing down on the back of the car but don't hear the sound. IV looked underneath to see if my exhaust is tight and everything looks and seems good. I'm going to go back out tonight after my car cools down and have a look again. What do you guys think is making the rattling and clunking sounds?

If you can, jack up the back of your car and support it on jackstands under the frame (so the axle can hang). Then crawl under it and push up on the swaybar, causing the axle to move. I found a loose bolt that way, where the upper control arm attaches to the frame (torque box). That sound was more of a banging sound. Good luck. :nice:

I agree. You should put it on a lift and start tightening everthing up. It might be an exhaust hanger though like the others said.

i am chasing the same problem. i am thinking its either massive slop in the driveline, or i have something loose/broken on the UCA mounts. i am checking over everything this weekend with the back on ramps...

FWIW, one time I went down a dirt road that had 'what looked to be small puddles of water' but I found out they were not so shallow. Long story short, one of my calipers came loose and was making a clunking noise so might as well check that too. Check tie rod/ends, bushings, exhaust hangers, etc...

I am having the same problem. I actually checked under my car and pulled all the interior panels out of the rear of my car including the rear seat and I have not been able to find the noise yet, so if anybody finds what their noise is please let me know so I can check that. Torinalth, having a similar setup to mine do you experience a squeeking noise in the rear suspension when you force it up and down, it is another noise I am trying to figure out.

not since the PHB and LCAs went on and the quad shocks came off... check your upper control arms, mountings, bolts, etc.... i am thinking its in there, and will post my findings about it this weekend some time,

I was just looking under my car with a friend helping me this time and I found my upper control arm on the passenger side moving around when the suspension is moving, I am also in the process of removing my quad shocks, hope this is where my noises are coming from, thanks
