Clunky Clunk Clunk...suspension?

So I have a 2011 Mustang GT. 6-speed manual, Brembo, super deluxe...blah blah.

I've noticed that while pulling into my car port, very slowly, foot on clutch...sometimes in 1st or neutral, as I turn right...there's some mild "clunking" sounds in the rear end.

The parking lot surface is smooth, but undulates slightly, so as to make the car rock "back and forth" a bit as you turn right. I can't tell if it's end links/sway bar...or perhaps drive shaft?

It's subtle. The carport area is pretty quiet, otherwise I probably wouldn't hear it.

Has anyone heard this sound before, or have any ideas? The car has 19K on it and I was thinking I should get it looked at before I drive 6,000 miles in July on a road trip...but I wanna give them a good description of what might be the problem so they can look in the right area.


Off topic, sorta...but...

Does anyone else with the Brembo package have rather squeaky brakes? I'm not a stupid driver so I have lots of pad life left, but I swear, these things squeal under the lightest application of pedal pressure. I have to mash it harder (that's what she said) to make it quiet down. On occasion, I get lucky and the pedal is right up at the top, nice and solid, and there's zero squeal.

Your description sounds like normal drivetrain lash to me. (trans, driveshaft, rear end)

The car is totally stock. Ok I lied. I have a K&N drop-in air filter.

I was thinking it sounded like drive shaft play and/or trans/drive shaft something or other. Should I take it to the dealer and have them look it over before I go on this road trip?

My buddy has an '04 Cobra. Not quite the Brembo brakes on that car (stock) but they are great brakes. His never squeal. The pedal is really firm and right at the top of the pedal travel. My Brembo's squeal, and I think that's just kinda cheesy. Perhaps new pads will solve this problem.

The Brembos have more aggressive brake pads then "normal" You trade off a little noise for that brake performance. Mine squeal sometimes, but I know the brakes are ok, so I live with it. If it bothered me that bad, I'd get some Hawk Ceramic Street Pads... That would cure the horrible brake dust problem, too.

Where I live/work, I see Bentley's, Ferrari's, Lambo's and Porsche's every week. I NEVER hear their brakes squeal when they stop. I'm pretty sure those brakes are better than the Brembo's on my car, which squeal. All. The. Time. (Unless I lean on them.)

Not sure where you buy your brakes, but I just spec'd out a new 911 S and they were only $8,520.
