cluster confusion

i just recently got a 98 gt with the 4.6 and i want to do the white face gauges, but i dont want to do the over lays.. i was thinking of getting a cluster out of a cobra. the reason im confused is cause the one in my car is a 150mph and the cobra is 160mph. could i just swap clusters or do i need to change anything else so that the spedo would work correctly. any help would be great. thanks

You could use a speedcal or programmer to tweak your speedo to get it right. It would not read correctly if you just plugged it in. You could also go with the Simco gauges for about the same cost and they're made specifically to the model car.

I'm pretty sure your going to run into problems because of the pats system. I believe the cluster, and ecu work in a pair.
