Cluster Gauges Sweep on Start

The PCM reset itself. You probably took the battery terminal off for a little while. Nothing to worry about.

Car bought new 2 years ago and battery terminals have never been taken off. Car has never been back to Dealer - I do oil changes myself. Car just turned 8,000 miles. Still under warranty. Seems too soon for batery to be going bad, but anything's possible. If I shut car off and re-start immediately, gauges behave normally. Car is used almost every day, terminals are clean and as previously stated, cranks quickly and starts immediately.

Well, got back from a long ride and the Battery "eye" was green. I opened the "sealed battery" and added 2 cups of distilled water to bring level to the "split rings". After adding the water, the eye went to "red." I ran the engine for 10 minutes - still red. I hooked a trickle charger up for a few hours - still red. Any thoughts???:(

Battery eye back to "green" and gauges no longer sweep and function perfectly. Looks like all the battery needed was some distilled water to bring level to the split rings. Wonder how many batteries are replaced without checking the fluid level in these "sealed" batteries?:D :D
