Hey guys!, I need a clutch quadrant kit with an adjustable quadrant, firewall, and cable. Whats the best kit I can buy? I know Steeda has some good ratings but its a little pricey!..Is there another mark? If so tell me were they sell it.
Also I heard that the adjustable cables snap easily, is this true. Should I just buy the adj quadrant and firewall and install a factory none adjustable cable? Tell me what to do! :( ...thxs :)

When I saw the title of the thread I was prepared to come in and say "Steeda". hehe. Look at the top of your screen. They have a 10% net code if you order it from Stangnet. That help?

I tryed ordering from stangnet parts shopper but everytime I do the checkout it doesn't give me any options to go to step 3 of the order. It just stays on step 2 (shipping address) theres no "Next" button or something like that to continue!

So I should'nt install the adj cable? Just a regular OEM cable from ford would be fine?

ford oem cable is more than good. lots of people driving around with original clutch cable on their cars that work fine. my adjustable cable was on the car for 6 months and i couldnt keep it adjusted right. i had it set up correctly but it would just loosen

Steeda. I think the thing about cables breaking doesn't apply- Steeda advertises their cables at 10,000 lbs. tensile strength. Think you can press that much with your right leg? :)

I took my stock cable off at 120,000, and it was gunked up but good. Quite a bit of resistance pulling back and forth. Steeda cable is teflon-lined and slicker'n snot on a doorknob. Buy it, you'll love it.

I would go with the steeda quadrant/adjuster, but use a stock cable. I just switched to this setup from an all adjustable one and it is a world of difference. This is good stuff right here:

Just the cable alone costs around $140 from the Ford dealer. This is a good deal.
Or if you want to get it even cheaper go here.

The factory cable is the best by far. Don't go with a cheap adjustable cable.
Then get a firewall adjuster and quadrant and your set.

Damn i wish i knew DPM sold those cables a week ago! Oh well, a new clutch fork won't hurt anything.

Man DPM has some good prices. I can't wait to order some FMS gears for $139. That's a great price. I've heard good things about their customer service too. :nice:

If you just put in a new OEM one last year, then it's still fine. I didn't care for my Steeda stuff, but the guy I sold it too seemed to like it. UPR is fantastic, and cheaper. Thier Xtreme firewall adjuster is the best one out there. The MM kit is supposed to be good too, but pricey. Unlike almost every other kit though, they include shims to positively locate the quadrant, which makes a huge difference in pedal effort/smoothness. The same thing can be done with a handfull of washers though...
