ok, so i was driving and the car seemed harder to shift, i got home and it stalled in gear. I looked at it, and where it 'passes' the header, it was rubbing, melting it and while it still pulls, it flexes, and therefore doesn't disengage the clutch completely. I am obviously going to get a new cable, asking for install tips and how to keep this from happening again.

Check out a SN95 cable for added length to get the cable further away from your LT's.

Good luck.

i just bought a new FORD adjustable cable from Summit, make sure to bolt the cable to the frame rail. Also, route the above the k member, but below the motor mounts. that should give you clearance. this is how i have mine setup on the notch with BBK LTs. The SN95 cable is also a very goos idea. Hope this helps.

bolt the cable down and push it against the firewall, or do the sn95 cable and run it.... first maint i did on a stang was replace the clutch cable and dropped the bolt holding the clable to the body, so i left it loose.... and it melted...

g-luck
