Clutch Cable Problems.

If it is an after market quadrant then side to side movement is ok. If it is the factory piece then no.

A longer cable (a la SN95 cable) is often the choice. MM can take care of that.

i fought clutch cables for a while and dealt with all the problems

if you have an aftermarket quadrant. side to side movement is normal. My FRPP piece moves alot its very loose. the properly adjusted cable puts some tension on it but it still has play in it.
Some brands include shims to make it solid but it doesnt really matter.

I had a clutch cable seize due to my equal style headers that stuck out far and was too close. it heated the casing around the actual cable so hot it pinched it shut. the cable stopped working and it allowed the cable to come off the quadrant. I bought many parts store cables and they snapped within 5 mins with my kingcobra. The actual cable didnt, the plastic part of the casing on the front side of the bellhousing would rip off due to the tension.

I bought a FRPP adj cable and it works like a champ.
