Well I was cruising the strip with some friends last night and my cable decided to break and I drove it home without the clutch once again...I have the Ford Racing clutch cable kit from jegs. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/category_10001_10002_16581_-1_11225

And I saw that I can buy replacement cables from jegs, will this be the same thing as me going to autozone and buying one of their cables???? I know the autozone cables are crap but I need it to just last me till next week because I'm trading my car next week...

Well got one from advance auto parts and it fit well and worked fine for a few hours and then it snapped around 11:00 last night. So I'm gonna go back and see if I cant get another one, and then Ill install it and not drive it until I trade

Now I see what you guys mean about them being crappy cables

it shouldn't snap that easy. check your routing, be sure it's routed under the dr side motor mount.

I routed it the same way the old one was routed and the old one has lasted me the whole time Ive owned the car. There isnt any sharp bends and its not binding anywhere. The first one broke right in front of the quadrant under the dash, and last night it snapped right where it mounts to the clutch fork

Buy a Ford OEM cable and nothing else

You got it...dont touch it until you trade it in. Better yet...tow it within a block of the dealership and push it the rest of the way. The last parts store cable I installed broke as soon as I put the e-clip onto the ferrule at the transmission. I didnt even get a chance to put the cable on the clutch fork!

Same cable the Ford dealer has only cheaper and comes with a new fork.
$40 at Summit Racing I think.

Well that would work if I was trading at a dealer, but I'm trading with a friend, and when he calls back saying it broke then Ill give him the link to the website for the OEM cable...It saves me money, If I was keeping the car I wouldnt think twice about ordering the right cable

I'd just tell your friend what's up. He will likely be happy to give you an extra $50 to have you get the right cable the first time. If you install it for him for free, that makes him feel good (and it actually saves you money with not wasting cash on a parts store cable).

Good luck.
