CLUTCH CABLE ?

so i was under my car the other day pulling my drivers side header to change plugs and was inspecting my clutch cable, and other stuff. is the cable supposed to be pretty tight like a guitar string? or should it be loose like 1/8 to 1/4" side movement? i know they are self adjusting, but i am wondering if mine is stretched.

The cable should be snug with minimal tention just enough to keep the cable on the quadrent' if it feels loose like its going to come off the quadrent pull up on your clutch and push it back down for it to adjust itself .

My cable is snug to where i can put my finger on the cable and push on it and have it bow less than half an inch .

Agreed. I keep mine at zero lash or with just a hair of preload.

clutch adjustment

With my last clutch pack, instructions were tighten cable to flush, then an additional 1 1/2 to 2 turns tighter preload.
