Clutch change... How high

well you need to get a jack under there strap the tranny to the jack (put a 2 x 4 under the jack to support the tranny better) and slide it out of the way... so pretty darn high. if you had it up on ramps (all 4 wheels on stands) about 2-2.5 feet? maybe more.

How high do I need to get the car off the ground to get the tranny dropped out? Is this something that can be done in a driveway, or do I need to get it on a lift? Thanks.
Yea you should be able to do it in a driveway if i could do it in my garage, like spector said atleast 2 feet. I did it with a jack and 4 jackstands, but the higher you can get the car the eaiser.

I did my clutch in my parking lot, with 4 jack stands and a jack. You will need help of a friend or somebody to line the tranny back up, but it is do-able.

remember to get the flywheel machined as well, take it to a machine shop and get them to turn it for like $20 bucks to save you from clutch chatter.

I have a fork arm and um pilot bearing i will sell you EXTREMLY cheap OEM 99 up ford v6 i got and never used still in boxes.

i would replace, throw out, pilot, resurface flywheel, fork arm, pivot ball stut, inspec bearing retainer for marks, check adn replaced cable if high milage. these little parts. may make your clutch go from only gonna last 10 k before the throw out acts up to 50k.... spend a little extre get alot, and put it in right with correct tq specs and all that good stuff.
