Here's what's happening.
When I push the clutch pedal all the way in, everything is fine, as I start letting my foot off of it, it's still okay...until the very last inch or two. At this point, I can hear a chattering sound that sounds like it's coming from the tranny/clutch area.
I can push the pedal it in a little big again and it will go away again, pretty consistant. It doesn't matter what gear I'm in, or if I'm in neutral.
I'm thinking something to do with the flywheel, or maybe a tension adjustment I could make? I hope it's not in my tranny. Anyone got any ideas?

thanks

Yup, TOB is going south. That's the sound you're hearing. As you push in the clutch, it's putting tension on the bearing, keeping it from rattling.

Yup, do a search on TOB or throwout bearing on this forum. There are tons of threads that will help you out.

A very common problem on our cars.

Great, thanks for diagnosing my problem guys.
Muchly appreciated!

One thing, I've noticed that alot of people describe it more as a "chirping" sound, where mine is definately a "chattering" sound. Not sure what that means....
Anyway, I'll keep you posted on my findings.

Thanks

A very slight whine, but only what I've heard is normal with the ford 5.0

I heard my whine in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th, it wasnt that bad at first but the whine just kept getting louder and louder till finally, clunk. Did you check your fluid? could be the T.O. also, just throwing an idea at you.

when it finally clunked out, just pulled over to the side, called a tow truck back to the stable it went. But before it went out I felt the tranny slipping, it just kept getting worse and worse.
