best place to get spec 1 clutch

I know to know the cheapest best place to get a spec stage one for my stang. just blew up a two week old ford racing (story below)

well i just got my stang back together after a month of not having it and put a flywheel and clutch in it. after breaking it in (about 800 miles. i figures i do a few drags agaist to fox bodys. i raced my bothers 92 and beat him twice. Then i decided to race his fried

1st race he pulled about two cars on me(on account of my spinning)

2nd race when i got the holeshot and was pulling over a car on him.
when i went from 2nd to thrid. my clutch went boom. and that was it.

ive only had my car back for two weeks.

first was fried and it was the king cobra
second that exploded was the ford racing heavy duty

if you have a suggestion for a better clutch pass it on.

Chris

fourvalve.com has spec I for $177 and stage II for $267 and thats the cheapist I have found but you have to pay shipping so I bought my spec II at partshopper for $300 and free shipping and I think spec I is 200. I just had mine put in two weeks ago so I am still breaking it in, but so far its a great clutch.

well i pulled the cable over and man of man disc material is everywhere.

Do you think i could get away with just replacing the disc?

Chris

no, DON'T DO IT! the disk mates to the pressure plate and flywheel, you need to have the flywheel resurfaced and a new PP.

I have had a spec stage II for a year now, and have about 30 passes oin it and hundreds of powershifts on the street as well, it still bites HARD! slight chatter, but definatly livable, i got it from a guy on corral called artsparts for 275 shipped. I have about 12k miles on the clutch right now.

wouldnt you know it it was a new flywheel. only two weeks old. i think im just going to get a spec one. We will see if i get better luck this time. but im still lucky the clutch didnt go through the bell and floor
