NKau said:You have a couple options. You can go ahead and replace the factory unit with something like an auburn or powertrax unit, which are a definite improvement over the factory unit (pricey w/ install)
Or you can have the clutches replaced in your factory unit; I think the trak-lok rebuild kit costs in the neighborhood of $125 (plus labor to install).
If you don't currently have gears, now would be an excellent time to step up to a 3.55 or 3.73 while the posi's being fixed/replaced.
. I appreciate the help - I'm pretty sure the lockers the cure to my slowed e.t.. I guess what happened is; with the bigger tires, it bit hard & stopped my drivers side tire and the passanger spun to the moon causing those high-revs out of the box. It had me nervous being that i'm a racer on a budget. But 125 sounds like something i could swing to rebuild the posi. She went 14.4 on one leg, after the rebuild i'll let you guys know what she turns the clocks @.NKau said:What's lame is when people like Look It's Aaron post smartass, useless comments when a guy is trying to figure out what's wrong with his car. I think the guy knows the difference between hydraulic and cable clutches now.
Just hop in a 96' and up stang.Look Its Aaron said:Show me a mustang with a hydaulic clutch...

I've heard that the k/c clutches don't like slicks. I wouldn't be surprised. they're great clutches, but not desigined to take constant slicks abuse, you could have overheated it and slipped it.
hey guys, I've hear that some fox's did indeed come with a hydraulic clutch, and that ford had leftover hydraulic clutches from the turbo coupes or something, and I've seen people swear their car came with one oem. There was a thread on this here not too long ago.
