A friend of mine needs a new clutch and we are trying to figure out about how much he can expect to pay for the install. Lemme know if anyone has a good idea of what he can expect to pay.

About $500 in materials for the clutch and then close to $1000 in labor for a shop to do it.

It's nuts.

If you're somewhat mechanically inclined you can do it yourself easily. Just take your time and you'll have it done over the weekend at a casual pace. I replaced the clutch and flywheel in my 99 and everything is a straight forward operation.

I just did mine on Monday !

I helped the mechanic to do it and it took us 3 hours !

So calculate 4 hours of labor to be safe + a clutch or your choice ( around $250.00 ) a new bearing ( comes with the clutch most of the time ) and refacing the flywheel ( $20.00 ) .

If I ever redo mine I will buy a new flywheel cause I just did my clutch last year and got the flywheel refaced but it did not last so I had to take everything apart again this week to replace the warped flywheel. :nonono:

I have a power adder and it's not very freindly for the clutch and flywheel but still , it sucks_to have to take everything apart cause I was trying to save some dollard on one part... :(
