i have a t-5, i bought the car with an unknown brand clutch but its def. after market because its pretty stiff. i can live with the stiffness but my problem is that on the release stroke of the padel it isnt smooth. it has a brand new adj. clutch cable and quadrent from bbk. the clutch does not slip so i do not want to replace it but what could make it "sticky" for lack of better words?

My "stickyness" was do to the adjustable cable I had...it was older though...yours is new:shrug:

Is it routed smoothly and properly?

Have someone get under the car (properly supported of course) and have them push in the clutch pedal and look for any binding spots or vice versa (you look)...

An OEM non-adjustable clutch got rid of my binding problems...over the UPR "dirty" adjustable one...

my guess would be the retainer bearing, if you are sure it is not cable related. the TOB slides on the bearing retainer and the stock one is aluminum and gets chewed up, which can make the TOB not slide too hot. aftermarket and later model used a steel retainer.

good luck.

Very good thought :nice: ...and that is most likely it...though it is a bit more involved to replace...

David, you may very well be right. when i loaded the page, your post had not hit yet (said another way, i am slow. LOL). i would have quoted your reply and then added the retainer bearing as another possibility. my first thought was the cable as well (why i said in the first line of my post that if he was sure it was not cable related............).
:nice:
